A MURDER OF CROWS

How would I act if I could have anything I wanted? Would I become better or worse—morally, better or worse? I would become worse—much worse, I can answer quickly. The darkness runs deep within my character, and sometimes it floats to the surface of my life. Within a few pages, I think, I too would be depraved.

Above him in the thick branches, crows sat flicking their heads with quick snaps. He cursed them under his breath, checked his pockets for more ammunition. Then, in pain and suffering, he crawled loudly into the woods.
